St Andrew Undershaft At a meeting of the workhouse committee held the 29th day of December 1800 at the Ship Tavern Leadenhall Street.

Scott & Chapman Tipple’s Letter

James Scott attended with William Chapman his apprentice and requested that some cloaths might be allowed him. Ordered. That he be cloathed in such manner as the church warden thinks proper not exceeding 2 Guineas. A letter from Mr Tipple to the committee requesting an increase of the allowance to the maintenance of the poor was read. Ordered. That the vestry clerk do write to Mr Tipple informing him that the committee have it not in their power to determine on the subject of it but that it would be laid before the next vestry.

To Mary Smith of Peckham by her daughter 13s/two months. Elizabeth Chapman requested some cloaths to procure a place. Ordered her a shift and a pair of shoes. [Last sentence is cut off].
