Frances was listed less often in the spinning rooms than her many siblings (James, John, Maria and William), and she was also relatively invisible in the entries that note which children were sick, went out to work for local farmers, or ran away.  But what makes Frances more interesting than her brothers is that she was one of the relatively few spinners who was given an apprenticeship to a really high status individual, the Reverend John Lane.
